Dedication Ceremony Video!

Hi everybody!

I'm not really sure who I mean by "everybody," since I'm pretty sure that nobody (not even myself) reads this anymore. I think even my mother has taken it off her bookmark list.

Anyway, Dan Barnard '66 made a short video of the dedication ceremony from last fall. If anyone ever sees this, you can watch the video too! Thanks, Dan, and thanks to Peter Titcomb (also '66) for bringing it to my attention!

  1. Thanks Greg, for the kind words. And please tell your mother to get back on the list! I had hoped both your parents would see themselves on the silver screen and remember such a special day.

  2. Greg - a fabulous reminder of a fabulous day! Thanks again. I've often wondered what road you've taken since then?

  4. Great presentation! I fully grasp what it is all about. Seems like the journey was ended with happy memories and never to mention the great cabin you have all created.

  5. Thanks for this post. I have been wanting to build a log cabin for the longest time, and this just got me even more excited about it. Keep up the good work here!

  6. How utterly pathetic that Maddy, Dorothy, and the Trips 2019 Directorate have boycotted use of the island for the 2019 Trips leaders day together. Someone purportedly found a document in Rauner that used a derogatory term for the Black person or family that used to occupy the island. In today's climate of finding new things to wail and flail about, the irony is that they're often bringing to the forefront a supposed history that is unconfirmed and that no one knew about anyway. None of the Trips leaders were even asked if use of the island offended them. These people decided for everyone, and in doing so disrespected the dedicated group who rebuilt the cabin that burned, and rededicated the island. Dartmouth needs to rise above the liberal insanity that seeks out things to be incensed about-- leave that to Berkeley. At minimum, ASK to confirm who else is offended or not. You'll find that far fewer are as overly-sensitized as the ones who made this ridiculous decision for all.
